Coming Soon

B&B Yacht Designs Spindrift Dinghy

We are excited to announce that Denman Marine will soon be offering the B&B Yacht Designs Spindrift Dinghy. The Spindrift is a simple stitch-and-glue sailing dinghy and tender, offered in four sizes from 9 to 12 feet. Designed as a capable, hard-working tender and fun little sailing dinghy, it has earned a strong following thanks to its versatility, practical layout and straightforward construction.

One of the real attractions of the Spindrift range is the choice between nesting (S9/10/11 only) and non-nesting versions. The standard non-nesting layout features full-length side tanks for buoyancy, seating and storage, while the nesting versions available on the smaller models split into two sections so the bow can stow neatly inside the stern, greatly reducing the storage footprint on deck or at home. If this is a design you are interested in, please get in touch and register your interest.

The Jimmy Skiff II is a versatile 13'2" (4m) rowing, sailing and small-motor skiff from Chesapeake Light Craft. It builds on the much-loved original Jimmy Skiff with more volume, greater stiffness, built-in flotation bench seats and a transom designed for safe use with a small outboard or electric trolling motor.

With a 52" (132cm) beam, 68 sq ft (6.32 sq m) sailing rig and a 250kg maximum payload, the Jimmy Skiff II offers a roomy, stable cockpit for family days on the water. It rows beautifully, sails quickly on all points, and can be fitted with a modest 2–3 hp outboard for quiet exploring, fishing or gunkholing.

The kit is well suited to patient first-time builders, with computer-cut plywood parts, pre-drilled stitching holes, puzzle joints and slot-together frames helping the hull come together accurately. Build time is around 120 hours for the rowing version, or around 150 hours for a fully outfitted sailing version.

Jimmy Skiff II rowing

One of the real strengths of the Jimmy Skiff II is just how much capability it offers in a compact package. It is easy to launch, easy to tow and simple to store, yet still has the carrying capacity and reassuring stability to make it a very practical little boat for creek exploring, beach picnics, family outings and quiet afternoons afloat.

For builders who want a boat that can genuinely do a bit of everything, the Jimmy Skiff II is hard to go past. Row it for exercise, fit the sailing rig for more spirited sailing, or add a small outboard or electric motor for relaxed puttering and fishing — it is a wonderfully flexible design that has earned a loyal following for good reason.

$150 OFF Jimmy Skiff II Kits

To celebrate the Jimmy Skiff II, we are offering $150 off Jimmy Skiff II kits. Whether you are looking for a stable family skiff, a simple rowing boat, a lively sail trainer, or a small utility boat that can take a modest outboard, this is a great time to start planning your next build.

Last Chance At Current Kit Pricing

Unfortunatley, due to ongoing pressures with materials, freight, supply, etc. we will be adjusting our kit prices at the end of the month. We have done our best to absorb and minimise these wherever possible, however some changes can no longer be avoided. If you have been considering a kit, now is a good time to get in touch or place an order before the new pricing comes into effect.

Our Denman Marine-built Sassafras 16 canoe remains available and has now been reduced to $4,500 ono. This is a lovely opportunity to take home a professionally built timber canoe without taking on the build yourself.

Built with the care and finish you would expect from our workshop, the Sassafras 16 is a beautiful and practical canoe for relaxed paddling, exploring sheltered waterways, or simply enjoying the look and feel of a well-made wooden boat.

Visit our For Sale section for full details. The canoe is currently located at our workshop in Kettering, Tasmania. If it’s of interest, please get in touch. We can arrange Australia-wide shipping and are happy to provide a freight quote.
